Cong Thuong Newspaper won second prize at Vinh Phuc Provincial Press Award 2025

The 14th Vinh Phuc Provincial Press Award 2025 marks a positive change in both quantity and quality of works, affirming the position and creativity of journalists inside and outside the province.

The announcement and award ceremony was solemnly held on the occasion of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025), and at the same time, it was an event towards the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, demonstrating Vinh Phuc province's respect and encouragement for the team of dedicated and creative journalists.

Prestigious awards

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of Vinh Phuc Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Khac Hieu acknowledged and praised the great contributions of press agencies and journalists inside and outside the province to the socio-economic development of Vinh Phuc in recent times. Mr. Nguyen Khac Hieu emphasized that after 14 seasons, Vinh Phuc Provincial Press Awards has become a prestigious intellectual playground, attracting a large number of professional and non-professional journalists to participate, creating a movement to create high-quality press works, imbued with the breath of life and serving well the political tasks of the locality.

In 2025, in the context of the entire press industry aiming to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, the Vinh Phuc Press Award was organized with a spirit of innovation, professionalism and depth. Many entries this year have comprehensively reflected fields from economy, culture, society, national defense - security to Party building, digital transformation, and protecting the Party's ideological foundation. In particular, some works have the nature of discovering problems, courageously reflecting the negative aspects of society and proposing useful solutions, bringing positive impacts to the community.

The leaders of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the role of Vinh Phuc press in propagating the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws, and at the same time encouraging patriotic emulation movements, promoting the image of a dynamic, innovative and livable Vinh Phuc. At the same time, they called on the team of journalists to continue to promote the role of pioneers on the ideological and cultural front, constantly innovate, improve professional qualifications, closely follow political tasks and accompany the development of the province. Each journalist should uphold the social responsibility and civic duty of journalists, actively contributing to building the homeland and country to become increasingly rich, prosperous and to build a professional, humane and modern Vietnamese Revolutionary Press.

Shift in content and form of expression

The 2025 Press Awards attracted more than 200 entries from professional and non-professional journalists from many central and local press agencies. The Awards Council selected 99 outstanding entries for the final round, considering and awarding 36 awards in 5 categories: Print, Electronic, Radio, Television and Photojournalism.

The content of the entries reflects the multi-dimensional, comprehensive political, economic and social life of the province. Particularly focusing on “hot” topics such as: streamlining the apparatus, sustainable development, digital transformation, fighting to protect the Party’s ideological foundation, social security, advanced new rural areas, etc.

This year’s awards saw a clear improvement in the quality of works in all categories. In particular, electronic newspapers, the category with the highest number of entries, demonstrated creativity in the form of expression, with a flexible combination of images, videos, and interactive data. In addition, radio and television works also made breakthroughs in the choice of topics, vivid and profound expressions, closely linked to people’s lives.

In the photojournalism category, many photo reports touched viewers' emotions, conveying profound humanistic messages. Although there are still some limitations such as the lack of in-depth commentary works and uneven breakthroughs, in general, the Vinh Phuc Provincial Press Awards 2025 has achieved the goal of improving the quality, professionalism and depth of press activities in the area.

Notably, the 3-part series "Merger of Vinh Phuc, Phu Tho, Hoa Binh - Reshaping the national development space" by journalist Thu Thuy (Industry and Trade Newspaper) won second prize in the electronic newspaper category, leaving a deep impression with its topical and strategic vision.
