Alarm about global plastic pollution

DNVN - Experts estimate that each year about 251 million tons of plastic waste are discharged worldwide .

Of this, 52.1 million tons, or about one-fifth, are unmanaged and discharged directly into the environment. The amount of “unmanaged” plastic waste includes waste that is not collected, becomes a serious source of pollution for the global ecosystem, or is burned in the open. This burning produces fine particles and toxic gases, causing serious impacts on human health.
