Thai newspaper regrets the failure of Vietnam women's team at Southeast Asian tournament

Regretfully losing to Australia, Vietnam women's team missed the championship goal

Thailand's leading daily newspaper Thairath wrote: "The coach of the Thai women's team, Futoshi Ikeda (Japanese), once praised the Vietnamese women's football team and the Myanmar women's team as the strongest teams in the 2025 Southeast Asian Women's Football Championship."

According to the Japanese coach, the Vietnamese women's football team has very good ball control ability. Coach Mai Duc Chung's players are skillful and very agile.

Therefore, the defeat of the Vietnamese women's football team against the U23 Australia team in the semi-final match last night (August 16) at Lach Tray Stadium ( Hai Phong ), made many people regretful.

Meanwhile, the Thai newspaper Khaosod commented: “The next match of the Thai women's team will be against the Vietnamese women's football team, in the third place match of the 2025 Southeast Asian Championship. This match will take place at Lach Tray Stadium on August 19.”

“The Thai women’s team had their dream come to an early end when they lost to Myanmar in the semi-finals. Thailand missed out on the final of this year’s tournament. Meanwhile, the Vietnamese women’s football team lost to U23 Australia in the other semi-final,” Khaosod added.

The third-place match between the Vietnamese women's football team and Thailand will take place at 4:30 p.m. on August 19. The final match between Myanmar and U23 Australia will take place at 8 p.m. the same day, also at Lach Tray Stadium.

According to an announcement from the VFF, tickets to watch the third-place match and the final of the 2025 Southeast Asian Women's Football Championship, at Lach Tray Stadium (Hai Phong), will be on sale at 9:00 a.m. on August 17, via online channels.

Tickets are sold at two prices: 100,000 VND/ticket and 200,000 VND/ticket, depending on the grandstand area. This is an affordable ticket price for fans.
