The investigation determined that on May 3, 2025, after receiving reports from the public about Nguyen Quoc Bao's behavior of disturbing public order and destroying property, My Thoi Ward Police deployed forces to Bao's house to invite him to the headquarters for questioning, and at the same time conducted an administrative inspection and discovered in Bao's bedroom 2 revolver-style pistols, 37 shell casings, 8 bullets and many dangerous weapons.

After that, the Provincial Police Department directed the Investigation Security Department to coordinate with relevant professional units and My Thoi Ward Police to conduct a crime scene investigation, temporarily confiscate the guns, bullets and weapons above to continue investigating and verifying. According to the appraisal results, 1 of the 2 guns and 6 of the 8 bullets seized in Bao's bedroom were military weapons.

At the police station, Bao confessed that in mid-2023, he went on Facebook to contact a person using the account "Phuc Duy Lan" to order 2 guns and 5 bullets for 8 million VND. After receiving the guns and bullets, that same evening, Bao took them out to the deserted fields to test-fire them and then brought them home to hide.

Currently, the case is being investigated and handled by the police according to the provisions of law.
