Provincial leaders visited and congratulated Venerable Thich Thien Duyen on the occasion of Buddha's birthday in 2025

(BDO) On the afternoon of May 8, a delegation of provincial leaders led by Mr. Bui Minh Tri, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, visited and congratulated Most Venerable Thich Thien Duyen, Deputy Head of the Executive Committee (BTS) of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) in the province, Abbot of Hung Long Pagoda (Thanh Phuoc Ward, Tan Uyen City) on the occasion of the Buddha's Birthday 2569 - 2025. Accompanying them were leaders of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions and the locality.

Along with greetings, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Minh Tri also presented a congratulatory gift to Venerable Thich Thien Duyen.

At the visit and congratulation, on behalf of the provincial leaders, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Minh Tri sent wishes of health and happiness to Venerable Thich Thien Duyen and other monks, nuns, and Buddhists in the city.

Mr. Bui Minh Tri acknowledged and highly appreciated the positive contributions of the Venerable as well as the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of the province and city in patriotic emulation movements, social security work, contributing to building the great national unity bloc, joining hands with the locality in the cause of developing civilized and modern urban areas.

Mr. Bui Minh Tri and members of the delegation presented a flower basket congratulating Buddha's birthday from the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province to Most Venerable Thich Thien Duyen.

Welcoming the delegation, Venerable Thich Thien Duyen expressed his joy at the visit and congratulations of the provincial and local leaders on the occasion of Buddha's birthday. The Venerable also informed the delegation about some activities of Buddhism in general and Binh Duong Buddhism in particular on the occasion of Buddha's birthday this year, especially the successful organization of the United Nations Vesak 2025 (in Ho Chi Minh City), leaving a good impression in the eyes of international friends.

On this occasion, the delegation members also went sightseeing and listened to Venerable Thich Thien Duyen introduce the history associated with Hung Long Pagoda.

Expressing great pride and happiness that Vietnamese Buddhism has always been closely associated with and accompanied the country on every stage of development, Most Venerable Thich Thien Duyen affirmed that he will continue to work with monks, nuns, and Buddhists to implement the motto "Dharma - Nation - Socialism", live a good life, and contribute to building the homeland to be more civilized, affectionate, and sustainably developed.
