"Mr. Hien" re-elected Chairman of the Hanoi Association of Small and Medium Enterprises

ANTD.VN - On the afternoon of May 14, the Hanoi Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (HANOISME) held the 6th Congress, term 2023 - 2028. Mr. Do Quang Hien ("elected" Hien) was re-elected as Chairman of HANOISME.

The Congress was attended by 200 delegates representing more than 10,000 members of the Association. Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Mac Quoc Anh - Vice President, General Secretary of the Association, Term V, said that the Congress took place in the context of profound changes in many aspects in the domestic and international situation, creating both opportunities and challenges, and increasingly high requirements for the development of the Association.

“The important task for this Congress is to properly evaluate the efforts and achievements that have been made to promote them, as well as to point out the shortcomings and weaknesses in the implementation of the Resolution of the 5th Congress for the 2018-2023 term and to draw profound lessons,” said Mr. Mac Quoc Anh.

Speaking at the Congress, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen said that the city recognized and highly appreciated the contributions of HANOISME in supporting the development of the city's enterprises in recent times. With the important mission of being the "extended arm" of the city government, the Association is truly a bridge connecting member enterprises, a focal point for synthesizing and reflecting on difficulties, recommendations, and proposals, and directly implementing activities to support enterprises.

In Hanoi, there are about 360,000 enterprises, an average of 37 people in the capital/enterprise, 3.8 times higher than the national average. The number of small and medium enterprises accounts for over 97.2% of enterprises in the area, has continuously developed and innovated, contributing more than 45% of GDP to the city, creating jobs for more than 50% of the workforce.

The Hanoi Association of Small and Medium Enterprises has focused on actively coordinating with departments and branches in removing difficulties, proposing many support policies for businesses in the area, especially during the 2 years of the Covid-19 pandemic with many practical fiscal solutions for businesses and thereby boosting export activities.

With the spirit of urgent and serious work, the Congress elected the Executive Committee of the Association for the 6th term, 2023 - 2028, consisting of 105 delegates. The new Executive Committee held its first meeting to elect important positions. Mr. Do Quang Hien was elected to continue to hold the position of President of the Association. The Congress also elected 18 Vice Presidents for the new term.
