At 4:25 this morning, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam; Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper Phung Cong Suong, members of the Organizing Committee, heads of delegations, coaches and more than 7,500 athletes attended the flag-raising ceremony. From 4:30 a.m., professional and amateur athletes entered the competition in the distances of 21.1km, 42.195km for men and women, professional and amateur; 10km for professional men, young men, amateur men and women; 5km for professional women, young women and amateur men and women.

More than 7,500 athletes from all over the country participated in the tournament, giving the audience exciting, thrilling and dramatic races with high professional quality, leaving a deep impression on the people and tourists. Quang Tri people spent a lot of time and affection to care for and cheer for the athletes throughout the tournament. In particular, many professional athletes competed in their true form, successfully defending their achievements in the previous season, typically: athletes Hoang Nguyen Thanh and Hoang Thi Ngoc Hoa won first place in the full marathon distance. There was no surprise in the women's 5km distance when Nguyen Thi Oanh continued to assert her dominance, with a time of 16 minutes and 19 seconds, marking the 9th consecutive time winning the tournament; athlete Do Quoc Luat won first place in the men's professional category for the 10km distance; athlete Vuong Thi Hien won first place in the women's amateur category for the 10km distance; athlete Le Van Binh won first place in the men's amateur category for the 10km distance....

In his closing speech, Tien Phong Newspaper Editor-in-Chief Phung Cong Suong emphasized: The 66th Tien Phong Newspaper National Marathon and Long Distance Championship - 2025 is an important tournament with high professional quality, part of the high-performance sports competition system of the Vietnam Sports and Physical Training Department and the Vietnam Athletics Federation, gathering professional and amateur athletes from home and abroad to participate.

Through this tournament, we aim to create a useful and friendly playground, an opportunity for exchange, learning, sharing experiences and strengthening solidarity among athletes; at the same time, it is an opportunity for the Vietnam Sports Administration and the Vietnam Athletics Federation to re-evaluate the athletics movement of localities nationwide, discover new factors to supplement the national team in preparation for participating in regional and international tournaments in the coming time.

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper Phung Cong Suong thanked the leaders of Quang Tri province, volunteers, and companions who always stood side by side and supported the tournament to be successful; congratulated more than 7,500 athletes who overcame all their limits, conquered challenging routes, and contributed greatly to the success of the tournament.

On this occasion, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 10 groups and 4 individuals who had many achievements in organizing the tournament. The Organizing Committee awarded the Medal of the tournament to the sponsors; awarded the flag to host the 67th Tien Phong Newspaper National Marathon and Long Distance Championship - 2026 to Khanh Hoa province. The sponsors symbolically awarded 15 houses to support the program of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in Quang Tri province.
