Dr. Cao Viet Tung - Deputy Director of the National Children's Hospital - said that after 13 days of treatment at the hospital, MTA (4 years old, in Nam Dinh ) who was run over by a tricycle has been discharged from the hospital and returned home.
Doctor Tung said that on the evening of May 3, the baby was transferred to the National Children's Hospital. When he was transferred to the hospital, the lower-level hospital had also performed all the necessary tests and diagnoses.

The National Children's Hospital has reviewed and re-evaluated these diagnoses. The patient was diagnosed with bilateral lung parenchyma contusions, right pleural effusion, and left diaphragmatic tear causing herniation of the stomach and intestines into the chest...
That same night, the child underwent surgery to reconstruct the diaphragm, preserve the left kidney, remove the bruised intestine and reconnect the intestine.
Two days after the surgery, the patient's condition was stable, with good consciousness, and continued to be monitored and treated. On the morning of May 15, the baby was discharged from the hospital in stable health condition.
The leader of the National Children's Hospital said that the treatment costs of children are mostly covered by health insurance.
During the treatment of MTA patient, the National Children's Hospital did not call for support for treatment costs from benefactors and the community, because child A. was under 6 years old and was fully covered by health insurance.
However, during the treatment of the child, many benefactors have supported the child. The entire amount of support was handed over by the National Children's Hospital to the family of the child patient MTA, for the family to manage and use.
Previously, as Dan Tri reported, a 4-year-old child was run over by a homemade tricycle on the afternoon of May 3. Immediately after the accident, the child was taken to Nam Dinh General Hospital for emergency treatment. There was a "controversy" when the person who took the child to the emergency room complained that the medical staff demanded "full payment before emergency treatment". That same evening, the child was transferred to the National Children's Hospital for treatment.
