(Dan Tri) - From June 1, Hong Ngoc General Hospital has implemented a separate examination and surgery policy for the elderly at all facilities in the system.

Vietnam is entering a period of population aging at the fastest rate in the region. Aiming to share the burden with public health and accompany families in taking care of their loved ones' health, Hong Ngoc Hospital implements a separate cost policy for people aged 60 and over.

Specifically, from June 1, the elderly who come to Hong Ngoc for examination will receive a 50% discount on medical examination fees in all specialties; services such as periodic examinations, cancer screening, pathology screening, digestive endoscopy, etc. will also be reduced by 30-35%; surgery and inpatient costs will be supported by an additional 20% if treatment is indicated. The program is also applied in parallel with health insurance and commercial insurance, contributing to reducing the cost burden for patients.

This is a support policy that also carries the desire to send a message to the community, emphasizing the role of regular health check-ups and early disease screening in the elderly. Many dangerous diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular disease or dementia, if detected early, can be treated more effectively, helping the elderly prolong their life and maintain their quality of life.
