I wanted to volunteer for two weeks at a farm four hours away from home, but my parents said I was afraid of being kidnapped and that it was unnecessary, even though it would help my study abroad application.
Next year, I will be in 12th grade. It was very difficult for me to find a farm that grows herbs to make essential oils, soaps, etc. to volunteer for this summer. The farms I looked at before only required manual labor, then provided food, shelter, and shelter. But at this farm, I learned how to make essential oils. I did a lot of research and wanted to come here for two weeks.
But my parents said "it's not necessary now", "being there alone, afraid of being kidnapped" and wanted a friend to go with me. I was very disappointed, not knowing when it would be necessary and appropriate for my parents. From my house to the farm is about 4 hours by car, the two provinces are close to each other, I don't think it's a big problem. When I asked what would happen when I go to university, my parents said "we'll think about it when the time comes, do whatever you want".
Is there any way to convince my parents to let me volunteer? They won’t listen to me. I really want to go because it’s related to the major I want to study and it will help my study abroad application.
