The Belgian government has asked foreign armed forces for help in dealing with drones invading areas around the country's airports, military bases and nuclear plants.
French and German anti-drone teams have already arrived in Belgium, and 20 Royal Air Force experts are expected to be deployed with systems that can jam electronic signals.
Belgian authorities said they had spotted several large drones flying in formation, indicating that they were operated by trained professionals.
The appearance of drones last week forced airports in the Belgian capital Brussels and the city of Liège to suspend flights.
Drones have also been spotted flying over several other locations, including over military bases, the port of Antwerp and Belgium's Doel nuclear power plant.
Last week, Belgium held a meeting of its National Security Council (NSC) to address drone incidents, with the Belgian Defense Ministry saying the issue is now a top priority for the government.
Belgium has also approved provisional spending of 50 million euros ($58.3 million) to purchase systems to detect and neutralize drones. However, it is unclear when the system will be put into operation./.
