On July 24, Comrade Nguyen Van Hieu, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, visited a number of effective agricultural cooperative economic models in Can Tho City.

The Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee visited fruit tree cooperatives and agricultural tourism cooperatives in Co Do and Binh Thuy districts. These are quite effective agricultural cooperative economic models, contributing positively to improving the efficiency of agricultural production and increasing farmers' income.

Notably, Thai Thanh Fruit Cooperative currently has 24 members, with a fruit growing area of ​​over 133 hectares, mainly growing longan and Ido longan. Thanks to the association of growing fruit trees in the direction of quality, safety and having a growing area code, longan of Thai Thanh Fruit Cooperative has been consumed well in the domestic market, and exported to markets such as Australia, Japan, the United States, etc.

This helps the cooperative's longan products sell at quite high prices, sometimes reaching 50,000 - 80,000 VND/kg, helping farmers earn 10 times more profit than growing rice as before.

Directly visiting cooperative members, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee Nguyen Van Hieu assessed that these are good models, and efforts should be made to develop and expand the scale of production and business. Cooperatives need to pay attention to ensuring product quality in conjunction with brand building, strengthening connections with businesses and related parties in product consumption.

City and local authorities need to pay attention to coordinating and supporting cooperatives in developing production and business, building brands, promoting products, as well as ensuring good issues of environmental landscape, traffic safety and order to serve agricultural tourism.
