Joining the delegation were comrades: Nguyen Loc Ha, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; and Truong Thi Bich Hanh, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.

Visiting Cardinal John Baptist Pham Minh Man at the Pastoral Center of the Archdiocese of Ho Chi Minh City, in the warm atmosphere of the year-end days, the Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Tran Luu Quang, chatted with and inquired about the Cardinal's health.
He also requested that Cho Ray Hospital continue to pay attention to and care for the Cardinal's health.

On the occasion of Christmas, the Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee wished the Cardinal good health and encouraged him to continue offering his opinions and suggestions to the city on social welfare work, especially programs caring for vulnerable people.
He also wished the parishioners good health and happiness, and encouraged them to continue working together to build Ho Chi Minh City into an increasingly sustainable and prosperous place.



Next, the delegation visited and extended Christmas greetings to the Archbishop's Office of the Archdiocese of Ho Chi Minh City; visited and congratulated Archbishop Joseph Nguyen Nang, President of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Vietnam and Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Ho Chi Minh City; Father Ignatius Ho Van Xuan, Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Ho Chi Minh City and Parish Priest of Notre Dame Cathedral in Saigon; and Father Paul Vu Do Anh Khoa, Chief of Staff of the Archbishop's Office of the Archdiocese of Ho Chi Minh City.

Sharing with Archbishop Joseph Nguyen Nang and the priests, Ho Chi Minh City Party Secretary Tran Luu Quang said that after the merger, Ho Chi Minh City has operated a two-tiered local government model with many important results.
Ho Chi Minh City has also been granted significant decentralization, giving it the right to decide on some tasks previously handled by the central government.
With its large scale, significant potential, and strong hierarchical structure, the city will have many favorable conditions for development.

In addition, Ho Chi Minh City is focusing on administrative reform and strongly applying digital transformation in handling administrative procedures for citizens.
Nevertheless, the city also faces many pressures, and the city's leaders and the entire political system will continue to strive, focusing on unlocking all resources, both material and spiritual, to develop the city.
The Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee remarked that, in recent times, Catholic parishioners have made many contributions to the city's overall development; and expressed the hope to continue receiving the support and cooperation of Catholic parishioners in building and developing the city.

Thanking the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City for their sentiments, Archbishop Joseph Nguyen Nang expressed his sympathy with the city's leaders at a time of many changes in the operation of the administrative apparatus.
The Archbishop expressed his wish that in the new year, Ho Chi Minh City would continue to develop strongly and effectively implement Resolution 98 (amended); and also expressed his confidence that in the future, Ho Chi Minh City in particular, and the whole country in general, would develop synchronously, with economic development accompanied by strong growth in happiness indicators.
Archbishop Joseph Nguyen Nang wished the Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, the leaders, and the people of the city a peaceful and happy Christmas season!
