On the very first day of the funeral and opening of the condolence book, many delegations from ministries, branches, friendship organizations of Cuba, and the diplomatic corps came to express their condolences to the Party, State and People of Vietnam.
On the afternoon of May 24, 2025, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party,President of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel led a high-ranking delegation of the Cuban Party and State to pay their respects and write in the condolence book to express condolences to the devoted friend, close brother and person who made great contributions to the special and loyal Cuba-Vietnam relationship.
Accompanying the First Secretary and President of Cuba were Politburo member and Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla and Party Central Committee member and Head of the Central External Relations Commission Emilio Lozada García.

History will forever remember your example and contributions to the renovation process for the prosperity of the Vietnamese people, as well as an important contribution to strengthening the historical and special relationship of friendship between Cuba and Vietnam.
In this moment of profound grief, we send our deepest condolences and solidarity to the Party, Government, people of Vietnam and the family, friends and loved ones of Comrade Luong."

Cuban leaders then signed the condolence book to commemorate comrade Tran Duc Luong.
Following that, the delegation of the Ministry of the Armed Forces of Cuba (MINFAR) and the Ministry of the Interior of Cuba (MININT) led by Minister Álvaro López Miera, along with Deputy Ministers and many high-ranking officers of the two Ministries came to pay their respects and sign the condolence book in memory of former President Tran Duc Luong.
Also on May 24, representatives of leaders of several other Cuban ministries and branches, ambassadors, diplomatic representatives of other countries, and representatives of international organizations in Cuba also came to pay their respects and write in the condolence book to express their deep condolences to comrade Tran Duc Luong.
On this occasion, many overseas Vietnamese, students and Vietnamese businesses in Cuba also visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Havana to express condolences and pay their respects to former President Tran Duc Luong.
Officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Cuba, the Defense Attaché Office, the Trade Office and the Vietnam News Agency Resident Office visited and signed the condolence book.
During these days, Cuban media continuously published many articles highlighting the contributions of former President Tran Duc Luong to the cause of national construction and development, as well as the rare friendship, brotherhood and brotherhood between Vietnam and Cuba.
