Built in 2013, Pha Long Border Guard Stele is located right in front of the gate of Pha Long Border Guard Station (Muong Khuong) - a unit honored to be awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces by the State twice. The stele is erected majestically in the middle of the borderland, about 1.6 m high, not only as a stele affirming territorial sovereignty , but also as a red address educating patriotism.

One side of the stele faces north, carved with the image of a Dong Son bronze drum, a cultural and spiritual symbol of the Vietnamese people. Spiral patterns radiate from the center like the sun shining across the border. The material of the stele, a combination of stone, bronze and gold, further highlights the solemnity and eternity.

The main side of the stele facing the South is engraved with ancient Chinese characters, expressing the indomitable spirit and will to protect the country: "The original spirit protects the mountains/The four realms of the South are like the book of heaven/The sun and moon respond spiritually/The absolute dragon and phoenix protect the country/The land of Vietnam is peaceful".

The stele is translated as: "The spirit is given the mission to protect the mountains/The mountains of the four realms are prescribed in the book of heaven/Thousands of suns and moons are sacred and effective/There are wonderful dragons and phoenixes to protect the safety of the Fatherland/This is the most peaceful land of Vietnam".

Every day, at the foot of that stele, border guards still regularly carry out their duties of patrolling, controlling, and maintaining security at the front line. The soldiers here not only protect the border and landmarks, but also keep the border area peaceful, accompanying the Party Committee, government, and people in economic and social development.

It is known that every year, thousands of people from all over the country come to Pha Long, not only to visit the Border Guard Station or admire the mountain scenery, explore the indigenous culture but also to be quiet before the stele. It is the place where the past inspires the present, where the oath of the past becomes the compass for today's generation.
