Bich Dam - the green pearl of Nha Trang Bay

Journey to a small village in the middle of the ocean

Bich Dam is more than 8 nautical miles (about 15km) from the center of Nha Trang city. From Phu Quy residential port, tourists can hitch a ride on a fisherman's boat for only a few tens of thousands of dong.

Mr. Bui Quoc Toan - a resident of Nam Nha Trang ward, said that on the journey lasting more than one and a half hours, the scenery of Nha Trang from afar appeared like a watercolor painting. Interspersed with large and small islands are mysterious stone caves and bird's nest exploitation areas with houses perched on cliffs.

"When arriving at Bich Dam, visitors will encounter a coastal road embracing the small hamlet, with clear, gentle blue sea water. Locals say the name Bich Dam comes from the year-round emerald green water color" - Mr. Bui Quoc Toan shared.

Destination that attracts tourists

In addition to the peaceful scenery, Bich Dam also owns many attractive places such as Hon Lon lighthouse - one of the oldest lighthouses in Vietnam, Bich Dam communal house, 150-year-old banyan tree recognized as a heritage tree, Bich Son pagoda or An Thanh temple.

Cuisine in Bich Dam is also an unforgettable experience. People mainly live by fishing and aquaculture, so seafood is fresh and reasonably priced.

Rustic dishes such as fish noodles, fish cake noodles, tuna, pork skin, quail eggs... cost only from 20,000 VND but are full of coastal flavors.

Towards community tourism model

In early 2025, the People's Committee of Nha Trang City (old) approved the Project on developing community tourism in Bich Dam residential group, with the goal of building a green, sustainable tourism model, linking nature conservation with improving people's livelihoods.

According to the orientation, Bich Dam will develop types of sea and island ecotourism combined with community experiences such as: Resorts, accommodation, overnight camping, trekking Gieng Mon mountain, conquering Hon Lon lighthouse, visiting environmental protection models, or transforming into fishermen with activities of netting, anchoring, and casting nets.

With natural advantages and the consensus of the people, Bich Dam is expected to become a new highlight on the community tourism map of Khanh Hoa .
