“In this World Women’s Volleyball Championship, the team will not have the service of athlete Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen. For personal reasons, Bich Tuyen has wished not to participate in this competition. The Vietnam Volleyball Federation and the coaching staff respect the athlete’s decision. We affirm that Bich Tuyen is always an important member and always welcome her to contribute to the team in the future when she is ready,” said the announcement of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation (VFV).
Bich Tuyen's withdrawal surprised many people because she had previously participated in many major continental and world tournaments with the Vietnamese women's volleyball team. The athlete born in 2000 was also on the list of 14 athletes registered with the World Championship Organizing Committee.
