BIDV joins hands to enhance the role of women in green transformation

At the workshop "Promoting the participation of women and women-owned businesses in the green transformation process" held on July 10, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Phuong - Deputy Director of BIDV's Corporate Clients Department - said that the goal of sustainable development was set by BIDV right from the time of building BIDV's Business Strategy for the period 2021 - 2025, with a vision to 2030. In particular, green credit and green financing are prioritized by BIDV in its development strategy. With that orientation, on the journey of accompanying green transformation with women-owned businesses, BIDV has implemented a variety of comprehensive financial and non-financial programs. Specifically, BIDV has developed funding packages, applied preferential policies when granting credit to green fields, clean energy, renewable energy; implemented social and community responsibilities. In addition, BIDV has non-financial solutions for women-owned businesses such as consulting on loan applications that meet environmental risk management conditions. social market. BIDV also built the SMEasy digital platform (https://smeasy.bidv.com.vn/) to support businesses in finding information, connecting businesses, and promoting their brands. In addition, BIDV also organizes training programs for businesses on green transformation, digitalization, and social and environmental risk management... BIDV also actively coordinates with domestic and international agencies to implement programs to support businesses in general and women-owned businesses in particular in the process of green and sustainable development. The workshop was organized by the Vietnam Women Entrepreneurs Council under the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) in coordination with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

This activity is within the framework of the project "Empower: Enhancing women's economic empowerment through green transformation" sponsored by UNEP.

At the workshop, many delegates provided businesses with information related to policies and laws on promoting green growth, environmental protection and responding to climate change.

In particular, programs, solutions, and initiatives to support women and businesses were openly shared to enhance capacity and connect with technology solution providers, banks, and financial institutions with green finance programs; Lessons learned for equitable transition and adaptation to climate change in Vietnam were also discussed at this event.
