Attending the opening ceremony of the contest were: Major General Do Dinh Thanh, Commander of the TTG Corps; Colonel Hoang Van Loi, Political Commissar of the Corps and representatives of the Department of Military Training - School (General Staff). Also attending were 76 officers from units of the TTG Corps participating in the contest.

This year’s competition takes place in the context of the Corps carrying out many key tasks, towards the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2. This is an opportunity to comprehensively evaluate the capacity of cadres, draw lessons to improve the quality of training, and build a strong, comprehensive, “exemplary, typical” unit.

According to the Organizing Committee, the competition focuses on the following contents: Organizing and implementing regular discipline, discipline management, training methods and command skills. Candidates will undergo theoretical and practical exams, along with a test on command style. The jury of 22 members will evaluate and select outstanding individuals through the following test contents: Training curriculum on command and team; training on command and team and training on command and troop management...

In his speech, Major General Do Dinh Thanh emphasized: Military regulations are the foundation for building a regular, elite, combat-ready force. A team of well-trained cadres is the key to improving command and discipline management capacity, meeting the requirements of building a "skillful, compact, strong, and gradually modern" TTG Corps.

In order for the contest to meet the requirements, Major General Do Dinh Thanh requested that the comrades in the Organizing Committee and the Jury promote a sense of responsibility, organize and manage the contest closely, flexibly and scientifically. Contestants need to promote the highest sense of responsibility, boldly innovate in organization and methods, and at the same time consider the contest process as an opportunity to exchange and learn from each other about command training methods, as a condition for each comrade to practice the mettle, mentality, methods and style of commanding troops. The organizing unit needs to create all favorable conditions for the contest to proceed as planned; in which special attention should be paidto educating the sense of responsibility of the forces serving the contest.

The contest is expected to last 3 days and close on May 14.
