Previously, at around 9:40 p.m. on May 11, Ms. Ng.Th.H (born in 1999, residing in Phu Da town, Phu Vang district, Hue city) drove a motorbike with license plate 75H1-112.XX carrying her two daughters, including an 8-month-old baby, to Thao Long dam located on Highway 49B (Huong Phong ward, Thuan Hoa district, Hue city).

After stopping the car on the bridge of Thao Long dam and leaving her 4-year-old daughter behind, Ms. H hugged her 8-month-old daughter and jumped into the Huong River to commit suicide. At this time, many passersby discovered Ms. H's eldest daughter standing alone, crying and scared, so they stopped to ask about the incident and reported it to the local authorities.

Immediately afterwards, Huong Phong Ward Police and rescue forces along with local people found the bodies of Ms. H and her child that same night.

The police are continuing to investigate the incident.
