The Ministry of Public Security received additional tasks from 3 ministries after the reorganization and streamlining.

This is an internal change of the Ministry of Public Security submitted by the Ministry of Home Affairs to the Government Steering Committee on summarizing Resolution 18 in the Supplementary Report, completing the plan to arrange and streamline the Government's organizational apparatus.

Mobile police have been deployed to search for students who escaped from Soc Trang Drug Rehabilitation Center.

According to the Ministry of Home Affairs , 3 new functional groups and tasks were transferred to the Ministry of Public Security for management as proposed, including:

Functions and tasks of state management of drug addiction treatment and post-treatment management and prevention of social evils (currently managed by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs).

State management tasks on judicial records and implementation of public services of issuing judicial records (currently managed by the Ministry of Justice).

Tasks of testing and granting driving licenses for road motor vehicles (currently managed by the Ministry of Transport).

Regarding the remaining four tasks proposed by the Ministry of Public Security, including: ensuring security and order in border areas and border gates; state management of immigration; ensuring information security and network security; and ensuring aviation security, the Ministry of Home Affairs requests the Government Steering Committee to give its opinions on this content to serve as a basis for perfecting the functions and tasks of the Ministry of Public Security and related ministries and branches.

Also according to the report, the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises will cease its operations. 18 corporations and groups managed by the State Capital Management Committee will be transferred to the Ministry of Finance. In particular, Mobifone Telecommunications Corporation will be transferred to the Ministry of Public Security.
