Ministry of Public Security launches Action Month on occupational safety and hygiene

Major General Dang Hong Duc, Deputy Minister of Public Security attended and gave a speech. Implementing the direction of the Central Secretariat and the decision of the Prime Minister on taking May every year as "Workers' Month" and "Occupational Safety and Hygiene Action Month". In recent years, the Ministry of Public Security has always paid attention to directing the Public Security of units, localities, enterprises and the Public Security Trade Union to organize many meaningful activities on the occasion of Workers' Month and Occupational Safety and Hygiene Action Month with many rich, practical and effective contents and forms, contributing to caring for and at the same time arousing the tradition of solidarity and sense of responsibility of officers, soldiers and workers in the Public Security.

Representatives of the Public Security of units and localities signed a commitment to compete in implementing occupational safety and health work and activities during the Workers' Month in the People's Public Security in 2025.

Thoroughly implementing the direction of the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, in 2025, the Public Security of units, localities and Trade Union organizations in the People's Public Security will continue to effectively organize activities in response to the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Health in 2025 with the theme "Strengthening assessment, identifying risks and proactively implementing measures to ensure occupational safety and health at the workplace", Workers' Month in 2025 with the theme "Vietnamese workers take the lead in entering a new era" to contribute to building an increasingly disciplined, elite and modern Public Security force to firmly step into a new era of the country, an era of prosperity and happiness for the people, focusing on doing well 5 specific and key tasks...

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Dang Hong Duc emphasized the important role of the working class in the development of society. Therefore, the People's Public Security Trade Union needs to perform its functions and tasks well, representing the rights and protecting the legitimate interests of workers. The leaders of the People's Public Security Trade Union must understand the thoughts and aspirations of workers and pay attention to their social welfare. Each grassroots trade union must truly be a trustworthy companion, protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers.

The Deputy Minister said that in the current conditions, unskilled labor is increasingly decreasing, so it is necessary to promote training and improve workers' skills, especially digital skills and the ability to adapt to new technologies. Officers, soldiers, and workers in the People's Public Security must constantly study, innovate, and master science and technology to become "pioneers" in the era of digitalization and artificial intelligence.

We request that leaders of agencies and enterprises, heads of police units, localities and trade unions continue to pay attention to policies for officers, employees and workers, and be more responsible towards officers, employees, comrades and teammates in difficult circumstances, especially in remote areas and in special fields of work.

According to Deputy Minister Dang Hong Duc, regarding the issue of occupational safety and health, the working environment of the People's Public Security Forces has specific units and areas. During the working process, there are many potential risks of contracting diseases. For example, the force of prison officers, off-duty officers, or commune police officers in remote areas... I hope that the functional departments and leaders of the Public Security Forces of units and localities need to pay more attention to the work of ensuring occupational safety and health, and research solutions to minimize risks in the work and combat of officers and employees in the People's Public Security Forces.
