TPO - On the afternoon of October 22, the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) held an announcement of the Prime Minister's decision to appoint Mr. Nguyen Duc Tam as Deputy Minister of MPI . Mr. Tam is 43 years old, before being appointed as Deputy Minister, he held the position of Director of the Department of National Economic Synthesis.
Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung said that in the last two terms, the ministry has developed 7 deputy ministers from local resources. The Ministry of Planning and Investment is the general advisory body on socio -economic development strategies and plans of the Party and State. Therefore, the assigned issues and tasks are numerous, difficult and unprecedented.

Regarding the new Deputy Minister Nguyen Duc Tam, Minister Nguyen Chi Dung said this is an important event, marking a new process and milestone in Mr. Tam's personal career.
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Nguyen Duc Tam promised to make every effort and try his best to quickly approach the new task; continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, responsibility, creativity, daring to think and act, to lead, direct and operate in the assigned field, meeting the practical requirements of the work in the new situation.
Previously, on October 17, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Decision No. 1199 appointing Mr. Nguyen Duc Tam, Director of the Department of National Economic Synthesis - Ministry of Planning and Investment to hold the position of Deputy Minister. The appointment term is 5 years. The decision takes effect from October 17.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Duc Tam was born in 1981 and started working at the Ministry of Planning and Investment in 2003, at the Department of National Economic Synthesis. In 2009, he was appointed Head of the General Department, Department of National Economic Synthesis. From November 2009 to February 2011, he was Head of the Secretariat, Ministry Office.
From March 2011 to April 2019, he was appointed Deputy Director of the Department of Business Registration Management. In April 2019, he was appointed Chief of the Ministry's Office; from January 2021 to April 2023, he was appointed Director of the Department of Local and Territorial Economy.
From April 2023 until his appointment as Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment, Mr. Tam was Director of the Department of National Economic Synthesis.
