Ministry of Foreign Affairs accompanies Hue Festival 2025

On March 14, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Headquarters, Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu received and worked with Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province to discuss coordination measures in preserving cultural heritages and organizing Hue Festival 2025.

As the ancient capital of the Nguyen Dynasty, Hue carries within itself national and world heritage values, with 8 world heritage sites recognized by UNESCO, along with 89 national monuments and 3 special national monuments.

There are hundreds of folk and royal festivals here, along with a rich and unique culinary culture, beautiful and majestic natural landscapes...

In 2025, the Government and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism decided to choose Thua Thien Hue province as the host locality to organize the National Tourism Year 2025 with the theme Hue - Ancient Capital, New Opportunities .

At the working session between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Thua Thien Hue province to best prepare for the program, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh said that the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025 is a typical cultural - economic - social and tourism event of national and international scale, combined with Hue Festival 2025, associated with the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Thua Thien Hue province (March 26, 1975 - March 26, 2025), which is also the first year Hue became a city directly under the Central Government.

The organization of the event is expected to be an important boost to help the socio-economic development in general and tourism in Thua Thien Hue province in particular; create conditions to attract resources for investment in development, build new and attractive products; contribute to creating momentum for socio-economic development of the province in 2025 and the following years.

Activities organized within the framework of the National Tourism Year and Hue Festival 2025 will focus on 4 main program groups: Spring Festival "Spring of the Ancient Capital"; Summer Festival "Shining Imperial City"; Autumn Festival "Hue in Autumn"; Winter Festival "Winter of Hue" with more than 170 national and provincial events.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province thanked the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO for always accompanying Thua Thien Hue in local foreign affairs activities, as well as in the process of preserving and promoting UNESCO-recognized world cultural heritages and historical relics of the province.

In order for the organization of Hue Festival 2025 to take place successfully, Thua Thien Hue hopes that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will support in promoting the program, inviting representative agencies and international organizations to attend, promoting the event to international friends at home and abroad, as well as in terms of reception, translation, promotion at Vietnamese representative agencies abroad and propaganda work with foreign press in Vietnam...

In the coming time, the province hopes that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to support the locality's foreign affairs activities, including implementing economic diplomacy, finding foreign resources to serve socio-economic development, strengthening twinning with international localities, mobilizing UNESCO and international organizations in the work of preserving and promoting the heritage of the Hue Monuments Complex...

Permanent Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu congratulated Hue on becoming a centrally-governed city. This is the pride not only of Hue but also of the whole country, and is the motivation for Hue to continue promoting the historical traditions and unique cultural values ​​of the ancient capital, thereby helping to develop rapidly and sustainably, making an important contribution to the socio-economic development of the Central region and the whole country.

Appreciating the proactiveness, positivity, innovation and creativity of Hue City in organizing activities of the National Tourism Year 2025, the Deputy Minister affirmed that units in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are ready to closely coordinate with Hue in organizing work, ensuring the events take place successfully, leaving a good impression on domestic and foreign tourists.

For Hue Festival 2025, with Hue's continuous efforts in innovating the way of implementing cultural activities, this event will make Hue a gathering place for many different cultures in the world, thereby creating conditions to attract more resources for investment and development.

Agreeing with the province's proposals on coordination in organization, the Deputy Minister hopes that the province will study more about the experience for tourists, increase promotional activities, especially cuisine, royal music, tourism promotion, introduce potential strengths, promote trade and investment promotion activities... during the Festival.

The Deputy Minister also directed the Department of Cultural Diplomacy and UNESCO, the Department of Press Information, the World and Vietnam Newspaper and other units in the Ministry to provide maximum support and closely coordinate with relevant agencies of the province in successfully organizing the Hue Festival 2025.

In an interview with The Gioi va Viet Nam newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Permanent Vice Chairman of Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee, said that Thua Thien Hue hopes that the National Tourism Year 2025 will truly be a cultural forum not only for Hue, but also for Vietnam, becoming a bridge connecting Vietnam with the world.

Sharing about the theme of the National Tourism Year Hue - Ancient Capital, New Opportunities , Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh said that we need to continue to preserve and conserve the traditional culture of our ancestors in the best way.
