Awarding prizes for compositions on studying and following Uncle Ho's ideology, morality and style

The Award Ceremony for the creation and promotion of works, literature, art, and journalism on the theme "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style" phase 2, period 2021-2025, organized by the Central Propaganda and Education Commission in coordination with Vietnam Television, took place on the evening of May 19, in Hanoi .

Attending the award ceremony were Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia, along with Party Central Committee members and leaders of central departments, ministries and branches.

The award for composing and promoting works, literature, art, and journalism on the theme "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style" was held on the occasion of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday with the theme "Following in His footsteps."

The jury reviewed 269 works and selected 12 A prizes, 56 B prizes, 99 C prizes and 102 Encouragement prizes; at the same time, it proposed to commend the outstanding achievements of 46 groups and individuals in promotional activities. These are proofs of the enduring vitality and spread of the values ​​that Uncle Ho left behind.

The award not only honors the works but also honors the people who are contributing to following Uncle Ho's example every day with their own pens, lenses and songs, contributing to building and developing Vietnamese culture in the new era.

Winning the A prize for her work about her grandfather, “Poet Ban Tai Doan - A shining example of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style,” author Ban Thi Quynh Giao, Institute of Literature (Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences) shared that Ban Tai Doan's poems are mostly about revolutionary viewpoints, ideas, and policies. What he wanted to convey in all his poems was how to change the lives of the Dao people and ethnic minorities in the Northeast region in general.

His poems all talk about the life of the Dao people who are very happy to have President Ho Chi Minh and throughout the poet's creative process, he always learns from Uncle Ho, learns from Uncle Ho's patriotism, love for the nation, learns from Uncle Ho's virtues of diligence, thrift, integrity, and uprightness; learns from Uncle Ho's humble and simple way of living...

"His artistic style is always associated with Uncle Ho's real life in every page of writing, that's why I am just the one who continues that tradition. I am also working every day and every hour to build a bridge to bring Ho Chi Minh's Thought into my writing and research," said author Ban Thi Quynh Giao.

Winning the B prize with the work “Folk songs of the White Thai in Lai Chau,” artist Dieu Van Thuyen in Lai Chau said that he kept in mind Uncle Ho’s teaching “Culture is the soul of the ethnic people, if the culture remains, the ethnic people remain, if the culture is lost, the ethnic people are lost,” and that the culture of our Thai people was once deeply ingrained in the minds of the ethnic community. But now it is impossible to let the culture fade away, our ethnic group will also fade away.

“I tried to collect, taking notes wherever I went. There were some pieces that I had to collect from four artisans before they were complete. How to convey to the younger generation to appreciate and use these works is a valuable asset,” said artisan Dieu Van Thuyen.

At the award ceremony, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized that President Ho Chi Minh - the genius leader of our Party and people, National Liberation Hero, Outstanding Cultural Man - the symbol of the quintessence, aspiration and spirit of Vietnam - radiated the intelligence, spirit and conscience of the nation and the era.

Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style are precious spiritual assets of our Party and people, and are the compass guiding the Vietnamese revolution to victory in the struggle for national liberation, socialism, innovation, construction and development of the country.

Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style is the path for each of us to inherit and continue writing the heroic and glorious history of the Ho Chi Minh Era in the new era, the era of wealth, civilization, prosperity and national growth.

Implementing Directive No. 05-CT/TW of the Politburo on "Promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle", in recent years, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission has worked with Party committees and authorities at all levels from the central to local levels to deploy many creative and effective ways, making studying and following Uncle Ho a regular activity and an intrinsic cultural need of each cadre, party member and people of all walks of life.

Organizing the Award for composing and promoting literary, artistic and journalistic works on the theme "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style" is one of the outstanding activities with strong influence, attracting the attention of many journalists, artists, intellectuals, Vietnamese people at home and abroad, as well as foreign authors and international friends.

The Award Ceremony for Composing and Promoting Literary, Artistic and Journalistic Works on the Theme of “Studying and Following Ho Chi Minh’s Thought, Morality and Lifestyle,” Phase II, 2021-2025, is an important Award, directed by the Central Party Secretariat to be implemented since the 10th Party Congress up to now.

According to the Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, agencies, units, groups and individuals have actively participated in the contest with an exciting, enthusiastic, dedicated and responsible atmosphere. The number of entries is increasing, the contestants are rich and diverse, from artists, intellectuals, journalists, researchers, cadres, party members to people from all walks of life at home and abroad.

More than 1,500 works eligible for the award among thousands of works and projects submitted to the contest were carefully, seriously, democratically, and scientifically selected through many levels and judging panels, of which 269 works were considered for awards by collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements and excellent activities in composing and promoting literary and artistic works on the topic of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style. This shows that the influence, attraction, and prestige of the Award are constantly affirmed and enhanced./.
