( Bqp.vn ) - On the morning of December 13, in Hanoi, the Committee for Population, Family and Children (PCF) of the Ministry of National Defense held a conference to review the work of PCF in the Army in 2024. Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense, Chairman of the PCF Committee of the Ministry of National Defense attended and chaired the conference.

The conference unanimously assessed that in 2024, the Central Military Commission, the Head of the Ministry of National Defense, and Party committees and commanders at all levels have regularly paid attention to leading and directing the work of population, family planning and education. Through the issuance of directives, resolutions, action programs, guidance and direction documents, population, family planning and education work has been implemented with specific goals and methods, suitable to the characteristics of the tasks of the Army and each agency and unit. Agencies and units of the entire army have effectively and systematically carried out population, family planning and education work, achieving and exceeding the goals and targets according to the set plan; many units have good models and creative methods, suitable to the actual conditions of each agency and unit, contributing to improving population quality, building happy families, protecting, caring for andeducating children.

Notably, agencies and units throughout the army have maintained good implementation of reproductive health care and family planning, while effectively implementing activities to reduce gender imbalance at birth and improve population quality; during the year, 313 cases of infertility and sterility working in the army were supported with more than 15 billion VND. Many activities to protect, care for and educate children were rich and vibrant, such as: Meetings to honor outstanding students, visiting traditional history, encouraging, supporting and caring for children with disabilities and serious illnesses. During the year, it was proposed to draw from the "Child Support Fund" of the Ministry of National Defense to support 241 children of martyrs, 49 children with heart surgery, 8 children with cancer and serious illnesses, 10 children orphaned by both parents, 220 children in difficult circumstances, remote areas, worth more than 2.8 billion VND; timely support for children of soldiers who died while performing their duties to help people overcome the consequences of storm No. 3.
The Committee for Population, Family and Children of the Ministry of National Defense organized a communication campaign on building happy families, preventing and combating domestic violence, responding to International Women's Day on March 8, International Day of Happiness on March 10, Action Month for Children, National Action Month on Population at 25 units with more than 5,000 participants. At the units, communication activities were maintained in a regular manner, diverse in content, rich in form such as: Training, internal radio, thematic talks, billboards, posters, propaganda slogans... Many units promoted communication and education through social networking applications.

Concluding the conference, Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh thanked the Central Ministries, Departments and Branches for their support and professional guidance and commended and acknowledged the achievements of Party committees, commanders and the system of Committees, Population and Family Planning Boards at all levels in the entire army over the past year. Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh requested Party committees and commanders at all levels to continue to thoroughly grasp and seriously implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws, and documents of the Ministry of National Defense on population and family planning work; strengthen leadership, direction, and concretize the goals and tasks in the leadership resolutions of Party organizations, programs and work plans of agencies and units. Raise awareness and responsibility in implementing population and family planning work tasks; promote advantages and replicate effective models and practices; Overcome limitations and shortcomings to better implement population, family planning and child care work in 2025. Focus on innovating forms and methods of communication and education on population, family planning and child care, ensuring practicality, effectiveness and breadth for all subjects; at the same time, actively and proactively deploy propaganda and education on population, family planning and child care at all levels, especially at the grassroots level. Maintain the implementation of reproductive health care, family planning as well as activities to improve population quality in the Army; care for, share and encourage families of cadres, employees, soldiers and workers, especially families with preferential policies and families in difficult circumstances...
