On the occasion of the 76th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, on July 21, the Command of Coast Guard Region 1 coordinated with the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee and Gia Vien district to visit and present gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, families with meritorious services, households in difficult circumstances, students and implement the program "Coast Guard accompanies fishermen" in Gia Thinh commune, Gia Vien district.
Attending the event were comrade Do Viet Anh, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.
At the program, representatives of the Coast Guard Region 1 Command disseminated the Law on the Vietnam Coast Guard, the sovereignty and security of the sea and islands of the Fatherland, the functions and tasks of the Coast Guard in general, and the Coast Guard Region 1 Command in particular in performing the task of enforcing the law at sea and protecting the sovereignty and security of the sea and islands of the Fatherland; the Law on Prevention and Control of Harmful Effects of Drugs on the Community.
Next, the delegation visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mother Nguyen Thi Ruong, Village 2, Lien Huy; presented gifts to Gia Thinh commune; presented 39 gifts to policy families, 10 gifts to excellent students of Gia Thinh commune with a total value of 70 million VND.
This activity demonstrates the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source" and the sentiment and responsibility of the Vietnam Coast Guard in general, and the Coast Guard Region 1 Command in particular, towards families with preferential policies and fishermen in difficult circumstances, as well as timely encouragement for poor students to strive to rise up. Thereby contributing to building a solid people's security posture.
