Ministry of Health announces 4 types of fake drugs for people to avoid using

According to the Drug Administration of Vietnam ( Ministry of Health ), regarding 21 types of counterfeit drugs in the case where Thanh Hoa Provincial Police dismantled a counterfeit drug production and trading ring, 4 types were identified as having fake labels and registration numbers similar to real drugs licensed for circulation by the Ministry of Health, including: Tetracycline, Clorocid, Pharcoter and Neo-Codion.

The remaining 16 products do not match any drugs on the list that have been granted a circulation registration license by the Ministry of Health .

Counterfeit drugs seized by Thanh Hoa Provincial Police.

The list of 4 types of counterfeit drugs labeled by the subjects with the same registration number as the Ministry of Health licensed for real drugs includes: Clorocid TW3 tablets (Cloramphenicol 250mg), registration number VD-25305-16, manufactured by Central Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company 3, packaged in plastic bottles of 400 tablets.

Tetracycline TW3 tablets (Tetracycline hydrochloride 250mg), registration number VD-28109-17, manufactured by Central Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company 3, packaged in plastic bottles of 400 tablets.

Pharcoter tablets (Codein base 10mg; Terpin hydrate 100mg), registration number VD-14429-11, manufactured by Central Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company 1 (Pharbaco), packaged in plastic bottles of 400 tablets.

Neo-Codion medicine, circulation license number 300111082223 (old registration number VN-18966-15), active ingredient Codein base (as Codein camphosulfonate 25mg) 14.93mg; dosage form is sugar-coated tablets, packed in boxes of 2 blisters x 10 tablets. Manufacturer is Sophartex Company (France), address at 21, rue du Pressoir, Vernouillet, 28500.

The Drug Administration of Vietnam has issued a document requesting the Department of Health of provinces, cities and health sectors to urgently and widely notify businesses and drug users not to trade, sell or use counterfeit drugs. At the same time, it recommends that people not use the above counterfeit drugs.
