Regarding the incident in which a man suddenly attacked medical staff at the Emergency Department of Nghe An General Hospital on the night of May 31, the Ministry of Health , the Department of Health and the People's Committee of Nghe An province have directed an urgent investigation into the incident.
On the afternoon of June 2, Mr. Tran Minh Tue, Deputy Director of Nghe An Department of Health confirmed to Dan Tri reporter: "The police have started the investigation. When there are results, there will be an official announcement to the relevant agencies. The case is being handled seriously."

According to the initial report, at 11:52 p.m. on May 31, the Emergency Department received patient TVL (born in 1972, residing in Nghi Kim commune, Vinh city). While doing the procedures, the patient's family did not cooperate, used insulting words, then suddenly rushed over the counter and slapped the nurse on duty, NTA, in the face.
The attack caused nurse A. to suffer from swelling, dizziness, nausea, and panic. The hospital immediately reported to Nghi Phu Ward Police and other relevant agencies. However, by the time the authorities arrived at 0:20 a.m. on June 1, the attacker had already left the scene.
On June 2, implementing the direction of Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan, the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management sent a document to the People's Committee of Nghe An province, requesting urgent direction for competent agencies to investigate, clarify and strictly handle the case according to the law.
The Ministry of Health also requested to strengthen security and order at medical facilities, especially establishing an effective security warning and monitoring system, and paying attention to visiting and encouraging the morale of medical staff affected by the incident.
Mr. Dang Thanh Tung, Chief of Office of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, confirmed that he had received the document from the Ministry of Health and was coordinating to direct the implementation according to the instructions. The Provincial People's Committee also directly instructed the Provincial Police to promptly investigate, verify and strictly handle violators.
The incident continues to raise concerns about violence in the medical environment, where absolute safety should be guaranteed for both patients and medical staff.
