According to the Ministry of Health , infectious diseases in the world continue to develop complicatedly, with outbreaks of some diseases that have vaccines such as measles, whooping cough, influenza A(H5N1)... In the country, the epidemic is basically under control, but there are still many cases of measles in children aged 11-15, some cases of influenza A(H5N1) in humans, along with local increases in dengue fever and hand, foot and mouth disease in some localities.
The changing seasons, hot and humid weather, along with increased travel and tourism activities, are favorable conditions for the spread of diseases, especially infectious diseases transmitted through the respiratory tract, digestive tract and by mosquitoes. Therefore, the Ministry of Health requires localities to strengthen the direction of disease prevention and control work, to prevent outbreaks in the community.
The Ministry requested local authorities to take full responsibility for epidemic prevention and control in the area; mobilize departments, sectors and organizations to coordinate with the health sector to deploy epidemic prevention and expanded vaccination measures; review and strictly manage, not leaving out any vaccination subjects.
Provinces and cities need to allocate sufficient funds from local budgets for epidemic prevention, control and vaccination in 2025, including a measles vaccination plan. Localities can flexibly apply vaccination methods at home, school, or mobile to achieve the highest coverage rate.
The Department of Health of provinces and cities needs to closely monitor the epidemic situation, promptly detect suspected cases, thoroughly handle outbreaks; ensure logistics, medicines, supplies, chemicals, human resources and equipment are ready to respond to the epidemic according to the "4 on-site" motto; organize timely admission and treatment, avoid patients becoming seriously ill or dying; strengthen infection control at medical facilities, especially for high-risk groups.
The Ministry of Health also requested relevant departments and sectors to closely coordinate in epidemic prevention work. The Institutes of Hygiene and Epidemiology and the Pasteur Institute are assigned to promptly allocate measles vaccines to localities, provide technical guidance, support the implementation of vaccination campaigns and assess epidemiological risks to come up with appropriate solutions, and continue to support provinces in monitoring, vaccinating and managing subjects who have not been vaccinated or have not been fully vaccinated.
