In just four days of release, Lost in the Stars grossed $98.3 million during the Dragon Boat Festival in China, becoming the first summer blockbuster in the country after a series of Hollywood films tried to conquer the billion-person movie-going market, according to data extracted from Artisan Gateway. And of course, according to observers, Lost in the Stars reaching the $100 million mark in revenue in the mainland is easy.

Lost in the Stars is the first summer blockbuster in mainland China.

Ticketing app Maoyan predicts that the movie Lost in the Stars could gross up to $400 million in total revenue in the Chinese market alone.

The film stars actors such as Zhu Yilong, Du Jiang, Ni Ni, Man Wingsan..., and tells the story of a woman who suddenly disappears while on vacation with her husband. She later reappears with strange behavior. Immediately, a lawyer is assigned to investigate the mysterious case.

The film was written by screenwriters Tran Tu Thanh and Trinh Giai Khach, who created the resounding success of the Detective Chinatown series - 3 films grossed a total of 1.3 billion USD.

Last weekend, in addition to the "feverish" name Lost in the Stars , the mainland box office also witnessed the "landing" of the work Love Never Ends , currently holding the 2nd position in the list of popular movies over the weekend with a total revenue of 23.7 million USD after 5 days of showing.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny Will Be the Next Hollywood Project to Hit Chinese Theaters

Ranked third in the list of popular films in China last weekend was Transformers: Rise of the Beasts , earning $8.3 million in four days from Friday to Monday. Ranked fourth was the Chinese film Never Say Never, earning $9.4 million from early screenings (the film officially opens on July 6). Blockbuster The Flash followed the list with a revenue of $3.4 million, bringing the total in this market to $23.7 million - a disappointing number.

On June 30, the Hollywood hit Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny will hit theaters, following many other foreign films making money in China.
