The year 2025 marks many significant historical events for the entire country and for Quang Ninh province: 50 years since the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country on April 30th (1975-2025), 70 years since the takeover of the mining area on April 25th (1955-2025), 80 years since National Day on September 2nd (1945-2025)... At the same time, this is the year of the Party Congresses at all levels, the 16th Provincial Party Congress, and the 6th Provincial Emulation Congress. The vibrant political and social atmosphere has created a favorable foundation for the province to organize large-scale cultural programs, spreading the spirit of innovation and responsibility within the community.
Following a series of successful cultural and artistic events and programs that received the support of locals and tourists, the province continues to organize a series of attractive and vibrant events at the end of 2025. A significant milestone in the province's cultural field is the official recognition of the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son - Kiet Bac Cultural Heritage Complex as a World Cultural Heritage site. To commemorate this important event, from December 18-22, the province will organize a series of key activities at Yen Tu, most notably the commemoration ceremony for the 717th anniversary of the passing of Emperor Tran Nhan Tong into Nirvana and the ceremony to receive the World Cultural Heritage certificate.

Within the framework of the Grand Ceremony, many activities were organized, such as: the 7th "Yen Tu - Source of Wisdom" retreat; a lantern festival in remembrance; and a ceremony of offering prayers to Buddha and ancestors, and circumambulating the Hue Quang pagoda. The Grand Ceremony took place on December 20th, the same day as the ceremony to receive the World Cultural Heritage certificate at Minh Tam Square, Yen Tu Scenic Area.
Alongside traditional ceremonies, the Yen Tu Festival "Journey of Heritage, World's Quintessence" offers a rich series of activities, such as: Exhibition of Millennium Heritage; Trade Fair - OCOP; Food Festival; Artistic Exchange, Folk Games; Heritage Film Week and the 2025 Quang Ninh Open Cycling Race "Returning to the Land of Heritage".
In particular, the ceremony to receive the certificate recognizing the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son - Kiet Bac complex of historical sites and scenic spots as a World Cultural Heritage site will be held at 8 PM on December 20th at Minh Tam Square (Yen Tu Ward). The large-scale program is expected to attract over 10,000 people and will be broadcast live on VTV. Following the certificate ceremony will be a spectacular artistic program, featuring a modern stage design and performances by famous and established singers from Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, and Bac Ninh.
According to Mr. Nguyen Viet Dung, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Department has assigned specific tasks to relevant departments and units; coordinating with the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong City and Bac Ninh Province to organize the event. At the same time, they are closely coordinating with other departments and agencies to ensure security, traffic safety, fire prevention and control, bomb and explosive ordnance disposal, and to prepare sufficient personnel, vehicles, medical equipment, stable power supply, and uninterrupted communication, ready to deliver a solemn and emotionally impactful program for the people and tourists.
Along with the Yen Tu events, people are also eagerly awaiting two art programs featuring famous artists. Specifically, the Extra Special Night Music Festival and Experience in Quang Ninh will take place on December 21st at Sun Carnival Square (Bai Chay Ward), featuring top Vpop stars such as Truc Nhan, Tang Phuc, Trang Phap, ST Son Thach, Kay Tran... With free entry for locals and tourists, the program is expected to attract around 10,000 people, promising an "explosive" experience with a series of activities, such as: a unique food festival, showcasing regional specialties, a series of lucky draw games and artist interactions. Immediately afterwards, on December 31st, an art program (Countdown) to welcome the new year 2026, combined with celebrating the 80th anniversary of the first General Election, will also take place at 30/10 Square (Ha Long Ward). It is expected to attract 50,000 attendees and will be broadcast live on QTV1 and QTV3.

Not only at the provincial level, but also at the local level, a series of events showcasing the rich cultural characteristics of ethnic groups and regions are being proactively organized. For example, in Van Don, the locality organizes the orange festival, the peach blossom festival, and the Dai Phan festival of the San Diu ethnic group. In addition, there is the So flower festival in Luc Hon commune, the coming-of-age ceremony of the Dao Thanh Y and Dao Thanh Phan people in Quang La commune… all of which are expected to offer new and exciting experiences, attracting many tourists.
Quang Ninh province places special emphasis on culture and identifies it as the spiritual foundation and intrinsic driving force for sustainable development. With its unique strategic location, numerous outstanding potentials and opportunities, and competitive advantages, the province has been proactively implementing orientations and policies to develop culture and cultural industries, aiming to build Quang Ninh into a regional arts center and a leading destination for heritage and cultural tourism in Asia and the world.
