Vietnam's passport ranks 90th in the world, up 2 places.

(GLO) - According to the Henley Passport Index 2025 global passport ranking updated in December, Singapore has the most powerful passport, while Vietnam rose two places from 92nd to 90th.

Accordingly, Vietnamese citizens can now enter 50 destinations without a visa or by applying for an e-visa, visa on arrival, or ETA (electronic travel authorization) in a total of 199 countries and territories. In terms of national openness, Vietnam ranks 80th with visa-free entry to nearly 40 destinations.

Singapore still has the most powerful passport in the world , with its citizens allowed to enter 193 countries and territories without needing a visa in advance.

The Henley Passport Index ranks 199 passports and 227 destinations globally, and is updated monthly. The ranking assesses the strength of a country's passport, based on the number of destinations its holder can enter without a visa.

As a result, the Henley Passport Index is considered an important reference tool for global citizens and nations to assess the position of their passports on the international travel map.
