BVIS HCMC is among 10 schools nominated for the Innovation category of the World 's Best School Prizes.
The award is presented by globaleducation organization T4 Education in cooperation with Accenture and American Express.
According to a representative of the British Vietnamese International School BVIS HCMC, this nomination contributes to affirming the school's educational quality and continuing commitment to bringing many quality learning experiences to students.
"The integrated teaching method of a program in two languages is the factor that helps the school achieve this achievement," added a representative of BVIS.
In its 10 years of operation, BVIS has developed a bilingual phonics program in the Preschool and Primary School with a unified teaching method called "Learn One, Know Two". The program helps nurture students' ability to transfer fluently between two languages, creating a foundation for them to transfer to the international IGCSE and A Level programs in Secondary School.

Mr Simon Higham - Principal of BVIS shared that excellent schools always have a culture of continuous improvement to ensure all members develop academically, socially and emotionally to the best of their ability.
"BVIS HCMC's educational approach celebrates the difference that true bilingualism brings; helping students become confident, independent, happy global citizens who know how to preserve pride and a sense of belonging to Vietnamese culture, heritage and language," he affirmed.

In addition, BVIS aims to contribute to the implementation of UNICEF's Sustainable Development Goal 4 "Quality Education". This goal aims to ensure inclusive and equitable education, promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all.
Therefore, the school develops and promotes social projects in cooperation with community partners, including the initiative "Giving love through books". This is a long-term project initiated and implemented by grade 5 students to develop a reading culture at a primary school in the Mekong Delta.
In parallel, the project provides opportunities for BVIS students to use their bilingual skills to read books to their friends at community partners. This ties in closely with the project’s original goal of “Learn One, Know Two”.
If BVIS wins the World's Best School Prizes, it will contribute the prize value to this community support initiative. Information is expected to be announced directly to the community at the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year.
