Attending and chairing the Conference were Mr. Duong Vu Nam, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade; along with the participation of representatives of leaders and specialists in charge of departments, branches, People's Committees of districts and Ca Mau city; Centers, Sub-departments of the departments and more than 40 enterprises, cooperatives, production establishments in the province.
Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Mr. Duong Vu Nam emphasized: “In the context of increasingly deep integration, especially when the US imposes anti-dumping tax at 46% on some key export products, diversifying markets, reducing dependence on some markets, and finding new directions is extremely necessary. Muslim countries, with a population of more than 2 billion people, live in 112 countries and territories and account for about 25% of the world's total population. It is expected that the global Halal food market will reach over 3,000 billion USD by 2028 and 15,000 billion USD by 2050. This is a great opportunity if we have thorough preparation, the right strategy, and especially a good grasp of standards, including Halal certification. Halal certification is not only a "passport" for Vietnamese products, including Ca Fast, deep penetration into the Muslim market, but also a demonstration of quality, hygiene, food safety and respect for religious culture - factors that are increasingly of interest to international consumers.
