In areas with particularly difficult economic conditions, there are still 6,477 borrowed classrooms, mainly concentrated at preschool and primary levels.
This is the information given by Mr. Tran Thanh Dam, Director of the Department of Planning and Finance, Ministry of Education and Training today, July 29, at the Conference of Directors of the Department of Education and Training in 2025.
Although there is a shortage of nearly 7,500 classrooms, Mr. Dam said that at the primary level, basic classrooms are enough to ensure teaching 2 sessions/day.
According to Mr. Dam, the whole country has 618,284 public preschool and primary school classrooms, of which 554,142 are solid classrooms, reaching a solidification rate of 89.6%.
The rate of solid classrooms after 10 years increased from 78.2% in 2015 to 87.1% in 2025. Facilities such as libraries, subject classrooms, offices, teachers' houses, cafeterias, boarding houses, toilets, clean water, teaching equipment, etc. have received investment attention.
Besides, there is still a shortage of classrooms in densely populated areas, mountainous areas, remote areas, and particularly disadvantaged areas./.
