Chairman of Nhon Trach District People's Committee removed after 170 billion VND loss

On the afternoon of June 23, a leader of the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee confirmed that the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee had decided to remove Ms. Nguyen Thi Giang Huong, Chairwoman of the Nhon Trach District People's Committee, from her position as district chairwoman.

According to the leader of Dong Nai People's Committee, the dismissal of Ms. Nguyen Thi Giang Huong is based on the conclusion of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee and the decision of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee's Standing Committee.

Previously, the Standing Committee of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee disciplined Ms. Nguyen Thi Giang Huong by removing her from the position of Deputy Secretary of Nhon Trach District Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Giang Huong was dishonest in declaring her assets and income through asset and income declarations; was evasive, contrived, concealed the origin of the undeclared amount, and did not provide the Asset and Income Verification Team with documents related to the ownership of the assets declared in the asset and income declaration as prescribed.

In addition, Ms. Giang Huong did things that are not prohibited by law but negatively affected the reputation of the Party organization, the locality and the exemplary responsibility of Party members. Ms. Nguyen Thi Giang Huong's violations were serious, creating bad public opinion in society, cadres, Party members and people, reducing her own reputation, the reputation of the District Party Committee and the People's Committee of Nhon Trach District.

At the first quarter press conference held by the Ministry of Public Security on March 26, representatives of the Criminal Police Department, the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention provided information about the case of the female Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Nhon Trach district losing about 170 billion VND.
