Faced with this situation, Colonel Nguyen Hong Phong - Director of Ha Tinh Police - decided to let the construction worker call his relatives to pick him up.
When the man's wife answered the phone, a female police officer assisted, reporting the incident and location.
Colonel Phong shook the man's hand and said: "You are a bricklayer, how can you afford to pay the fine? The important thing is that if you drink and get lost three times like this, you will unfortunately collide with someone. This will affect yourself, your family and other road users."
After the man's wife arrived, a police officer asked her to drive her husband home.
The clip after appearing attracted thousands of likes, shares and comments from the online community.

On the morning of January 17, speaking with Dan Tri reporter, Colonel Nguyen Hong Phong said the above incident happened late at night on January 15 when he and the working group of Ha Tinh City Police were handling alcohol concentration violations on Ham Nghi Street.
According to Colonel Phong, at that time it was cold and rainy, he and his working group discovered that the man driving the motorbike showed signs of being drunk, so they asked him to stop the vehicle for inspection.
"There are no exceptions to handling traffic violations, there are no restricted areas. However, in the context of cold rain, this person is old and has used alcohol, which can easily affect his health. Therefore, for now, we will let this person go home and hand him over to the commune police and functional forces. The next morning, we will continue to invite him to work, handle, deter and warn him," said Colonel Phong.
The Director of Ha Tinh Police also stated that when participating in traffic, people's awareness is the most important to protect themselves. The way the authorities handle violations is only a part.
"This man is so gentle and sincere, so we will behave and handle the situation differently. They complied, admitted their mistakes, did not react or resist, so there is no need to do it right away at night.
For bricklayers, the homeowner often invites them to have 1-2 drinks after work according to custom, so they cannot quit immediately. Therefore, to change, the authorities need to be persistent and have approaches that are deterrent enough but also humane," Colonel Phong added.
