


Phan Thiet City People's Committee has decided to invest in the project to renovate Phan Thiet Water Tower Park. Phan Thiet Water Tower is a historical relic, considered one of the symbols of Binh Thuan. The tower was built in the 1930s during the French colonial period, with a height of about 32 m and designed like an ancient lighthouse. The original purpose of the tower was to provide clean water for the French consulate and people living in the inner city of Phan Thiet. The water tower is located on the banks of the Ca Ty River with beautiful scenery that other provinces and cities do not have, the beauty of the tower has a bit of romance and antiquity that attracts tourists. Throughout history, Phan Thiet Water Tower still stands firm despite the effects of war and harsh weather. Phan Thiet Water Tower was designed by Prince Xuphanuvong from Laos, when he was a student in Vietnam. The structure of the water tower is built in the shape of a regular octagon, the tower has a base diameter of 9 m and a circumference of 31.2 m, providing a spacious space with a floor area of 73.4 m2. The water tank at the top of the tower is also designed in the shape of an octagon, 5 m high and 9 m in diameter, and can hold up to 350 m2 of water. Around the tank is decorated with porcelain, engraved with the letters "UEPT", the abbreviation of "Phan Thiet Water Plant". With its historical and cultural importance, Phan Thiet Water Tower is not only a tourist attraction but also the pride of local people.

According to the Phan Thiet City Construction Investment Project Management Board, the Phan Thiet Water Tower Park renovation project has a construction investment scale of renovating sidewalks, walkways and collective activity areas. Renovating the water supply and drainage system and lighting. The total investment of the project is 13.6 billion VND, the investment capital is from the lottery. According to the contract, the project will be implemented within 120 days. The project was started at the end of April and is expected to be completed in August 2025.
