Cam Giang reduces 14.5 hectares of abandoned fields

Lua 2 — Large-scale concentrated commodity production land lease models have reduced the abandoned land area of Cam Giang.

The area of fallow fields has decreased because from the 2023-2024 winter-spring crop, 11/17 communes and towns in Cam Giang have implemented the model of renting and borrowing fields to create concentrated commodity production areas with a scale of 3 hectares or more. Typical examples include the model of renting land for large-scale concentrated commodity chili production with a contract to link and consume products from the beginning of the season in Dinh Son commune, the model of producing cut chrysanthemums in Cao An commune, renting land for a comprehensive farm in Tan Truong commune, etc.

Cam Giang district currently has 33.6 hectares of abandoned fields. Of the total abandoned fields, 1.76 hectares are public land, the rest is land divided according to Resolution 03. Communes with large areas of abandoned fields are Cam Vu with 11.1 hectares, Ngoc Lien with 6.99 hectares, Cam Giang town with 5.4 hectares, Cam Dien with 3.4 hectares; Cam Hoang, Tan Truong, Cam Dong communes, and Lai Cach town have from over 1 to 2 hectares.
