Tons of wood, branches, and roots were gathered, stretching hundreds of meters at a temporary wood warehouse on Chu Van An Street (Thanh Tri District, Hanoi).

More than a month after storm No. 3 hit Hanoi, many trees on the streets have been replanted. However, some trees are no longer able to grow, so Hanoi Green Tree Park Company Limited has cut them down and transferred them to a temporary wood warehouse, awaiting auction according to regulations. According to Dan Viet reporters, Chu Van An Park (Thanh Tri District, Hanoi) is using part of its area to collect trees that have fallen or have broken roots and cannot be replanted.

Ms. Pham Thi Thu - Head of General Planning Department (Hanoi Green Parks and Trees Company Limited) said that after storm No. 3 ( Yagi ), more than 12 thousand trees managed by the Company were broken, fell, and had their branches damaged. Of which, about 6,000 trees in Hanoi that were broken and could not be replanted will be cut down and turned into firewood.

The collected wood will be transported to the Company's two wood warehouses in Yen So Park and a temporary warehouse in Chu Van An Park, Thanh Tri District. The remaining wood will be gathered at warehouses of districts in the area.

The small trees were cut into pieces about 3m long and gathered at the temporary wood storage. According to Hanoi Green Park Company Limited, up to now, the company is still collecting firewood to the warehouse, there are no statistics or specific counts of the wood.

The green tree trunks are rotten on the inside. According to the workers in charge of the temporary wood storage warehouse at Chu Van An Park, there are currently 3 workers taking turns to guard the wood storage 24/7. After storm No. 3, the broken green trees that were no longer able to grow and develop were sawn into wood and transported by car to the warehouse. Currently, there are only a few cars carrying wood to this warehouse.

Regarding the wood auction process, Hanoi Green Parks Company Limited said that the unit is only responsible for collecting wood and gathering it in the warehouse for storage. The Hanoi Department of Construction will coordinate with the Department of Finance to liquidate and auction the firewood and wood according to the provisions of the Auction Law and other regulations of Hanoi. The money from the auction of firewood and wood will be transferred to the State Treasury.

Tree stumps with "huge" diameters were cut into short pieces and transferred to a temporary wood storage facility in Chu Van An Park.

At the wood storage warehouse, many tree branches are still green, budding, and trying to "hold on" after the large tree trunks were knocked down and broken after the recent storm No. 3. Mr. Pham Tuan Thanh, a resident near the area, said that he often exercises in Chu Van An Park: "Seeing the green tree stumps cut down and gathered here, I feel very sorry. It takes decades, even hundreds of years to grow trees like this. Storm No. 3 caused great damage to the people of the capital," Mr. Thanh shared.

A few dozen meters from the warehouse, an empty lot is used to plant and nurture trees that are still able to grow and develop.
