The 72-meter-high Buddha statue at Khai Nguyen Pagoda in Son Tay Town ( Hanoi ) is designed with 16 floors inside, attracting tourists to come and visit.
Khai Nguyen Pagoda, formerly known as "Co Lieu Tu", is commonly known as Cheo Pagoda, located in Tay Ninh village (Son Dong commune, Son Tay town, Hanoi), close to the historical site of Mang Son temple.
Since 2006, Khai Nguyen Pagoda has been restored by the People's Committee of Son Tay town and many projects have been completed and put into use.
The highlight of this temple is the great statue of Amitabha Buddha for world peace, about 72 m high, with a base of more than 1,200 m2, construction started in 2015.
After nearly 10 years of construction, the statue has basically completed all items.
The giant statue attracts tourists to come and worship.
The statue is designed with 16 floors, of which 12 floors have elevators and stairs.
The Buddha statue's hands are 9 m long, the right hand is decorated with a Dharma wheel. The left hand holds a lotus, representing the profound philosophies of Buddhism.
In particular, the Bach Hao mark (mark on the forehead) of the Buddha statue is made of bright red monolithic stone.
People worship, visit, and pray for peace.
Inside, the first floor is where the ancestors of all generations are enshrined.
In addition, there are nearly 2,000 large and small statues displayed here to serve the sightseeing and Buddha worship of tourists from all over the world.
