TPO - Hanoi City has considered and approved the investment project to renovate and upgrade Road 70, Ha Dong - Van Dien - Tu Hiep intersection section with a total cost of over VND2,823 billion. This is one of the routes with many black spots for traffic congestion in the city.
At the meeting in February 2024, the Hanoi People's Committee reviewed, approved and adjusted the investment policy for the project to renovate and upgrade Road 70, Ha Dong - Van Dien - Tu Hiep intersection section. The total estimated investment for the project is VND 2,823 billion, expected to be completed in 2026.
Road 70, Ha Dong - Van Dien section, is a vital route connecting National Highway 6 and National Highway 1A. The road surface is about 8m wide, with no median strip. |
Although the road is very narrow and degraded, the daily traffic volume here is very large, mostly trucks and container trucks. The high traffic volume and narrow road often cause traffic jams.
Along this route, there are many black spots of traffic congestion. For example, in front of Tan Trieu K Hospital; the intersection of Highway 70 - Chu Van An Street; the intersection of Kim Giang - Phan Trong Tue and the intersection of Giai Phong - Phan Trong Tue (photo: Huu Hung) |
Black spots of traffic congestion along this route include in front of Tan Trieu K Hospital; the intersection between Road 70 and Chu Van An Street; the section across To Bridge (Kim Giang - Phan Trong Tue intersection) and the Giai Phong - Phan Trong Tue intersection.
This road is small and narrow, but trucks and containers often travel here. Therefore, each direction only needs 1 truck or container to occupy the entire road. |
The Phan Trong Tue-Giai Phong intersection is also often congested, especially during rush hour or when trains pass by. |
It is expected that after the project is completed, the route will contribute to reducing traffic congestion and promoting socio-economic development for the western region of Hanoi. |
