The 2025 Vesak Festival officially opened on the morning of May 6 at the Vietnam Buddhist Academy (HCMC), with the presence of President Luong Cuong and many domestic and international delegates.

The 2025 United Nations Day of Vesak takes place from May 2 to May 8, with a solemn opening ceremony held on the morning of May 6 at the Vietnam Buddhist Academy in Ho Chi Minh City, in the presence of President Luong Cuong and more than 2,700 delegates from 85 countries and territories.

The event, hosted by the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in coordination with relevant authorities, is the first time Vesak has been held in Ho Chi Minh City and the fourth time Vietnam has taken on the role of host.
