Da Nang Port welcomes first shipment of 2024

DNO - The first ton of cargo in 2024 of Da Nang Port was loaded and unloaded from the SITC HAINAN ship with a capacity of 21,355 DWT and a capacity of 1,808 Teus, docking at Tien Sa 3 bridge, carrying 176 import containers; after completing import procedures, the ship will carry 231 export containers.

Accordingly, at exactly 0:00 on January 1, 2024, Tien Sa 3 wharf (Tien Sa port) welcomed the first shipment through the port in the new year. General Director of Da Nang Port Tran Le Tuan said that in 2023, although the Vietnamese economy in general and the Da Nang Port market in particular continued to face difficulties, all production and business indicators increased by 5% compared to the previous year.

This is also a positive sign showing that the Da Nang market in particular and the Central region of Vietnam in general are promising great potential.

In 2024, Da Nang Port aims to increase production and business targets by 7% and average income of workers by 3% compared to 2023.

It is known that in 2023, Da Nang Port invested in 1 more QCC crane, 4 ERTG cranes, 2 gantry cranes and a series of other modern equipment to optimize operating capacity.

At the same time, the unit is implementing the investment project of Hoa Vang Logistics Center with an area of 20 hectares and a large warehouse system, serving the entire Central - Central Highlands region. This center will operate logistics according to the ICD orientation integrating bonded warehouses, customs, domestic warehouses, distribution warehouses, e-commerce warehouses, and container yards.

Da Nang Port is urgently completing the project behind Bridge 4.5 to put it into operation in early 2024, in addition to promoting necessary procedures to soon participate in investing in the Lien Chieu Port project in the near future.

In addition, the unit has been focusing on investing and completing infrastructure, equipment, and logistics systems to aim at providing a full Door to Door service package for Da Nang Port customers in 2024.

Da Nang Port currently ranks 8th among the largest tax-paying enterprises in Da Nang; at the same time, the average import-export tax revenue at Tien Sa Port has always grown over the years and accounts for over 80% of the total import-export tax revenue of the whole city.
