Earlier on the night of November 17, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Khanh Hoa Province Police received a report that a group of foreign tourists including 3 Russians, while visiting some places in Nha Trang, were trapped in a flooded area near D30 Street, Tay Nha Trang Ward, one of them showed signs of exhaustion due to an underlying disease, while the water level in this area was rising and the current was swirling.

Immediately, a working group of 6 officers and soldiers of the Fire and Rescue Police were mobilized to the scene, using specialized vehicles and life jackets to approach the deep flooded area while the water level was still rising, promptly approaching the flooded area, rescuing the above mentioned group of tourists to cross the rapids, and bringing the Russian group of tourists to a safe area. Along with health checks, the working group contacted the group's compatriots and provided taxi support for them to return to their accommodation at a hotel in Nha Trang ward. The identities of this group of tourists are Tsvetkova Lyudmila Lvovna (born 1963), Vyatkin Anton Evgenyevich (born 1993), Vyatkina Olesya Sergeevna (born 2000), all of Russian nationality.
After being rescued safely, the oldest person in the tourist group, Ms. Tsvetkova Lyudmila Lvovna, was moved to express her deep gratitude and admiration for the spirit and responsibility of the officers and soldiers of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Khanh Hoa Province in particular for their night-long rescue during natural disasters and floods, which contributed to building a more noble image of Vietnamese police in the hearts of foreign tourists.
