Fierce competition in national A-class volleyball tournament

Compared to last year, this year's A-class volleyball tournament increased the number of participating teams from 25 to 28 teams. In particular, teams with good investment in youth training and teams with effective social work have achieved positive results. The success of the Vietnamese men's and women's volleyball teams and the national volleyball championship also helped the A-class volleyball tournament gain attention. The professional quality of the matches has been significantly improved.

At the end of the qualifying round in Kon Tum, 8 men's teams were selected: Tra Vinh, Ha Tinh, Vinh Long, Mobile Police Command, Binh Duong, Military Region 3, Ho Chi Minh City, Quang Nam and 8 women's teams: Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Hai Duong, Young Soldiers of Information Corps, Young VTV Binh Dien Long An, Vinh Phuc to participate in the final round in Quang Tri from October 23 to November 2.

Mr. Le Tri Truong, General Secretary of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation, said that the finals of the men's and women's tournaments will be played in the same format. The 8 teams will be divided into 2 groups A and B, competing in a round-robin for ranking. Then, the quarter-finals will be played with the pairs 1A vs 4B, 2A vs 3B, 3A vs 2B, 4A vs 1B. Next are the semi-finals and finals. Each event will only select the champion team to win a ticket to play in the national championship in 2026, so the matches in the finals promise to be intense and exciting. This is the decisive stage, so teams with ambitions to be promoted will have to invest in in-depth domestic players. In addition, the A-class volleyball tournament continues to allow teams to use foreign players, which is also an opportunity to improve the quality and increase the attractiveness of the matches. Last year, the Ho Chi Minh City Police men's team, with strong investment from both domestic and foreign players, won the right to play in the national championship. This team even finished the first phase of the 2025 national volleyball championship with the top position in the group after 5 impressive wins.
