Some violations detected

In recent days, Market Management Team No. 1 (in charge of Nha Trang City) under the provincial Market Management Department has simultaneously launched inspections and controls of the goods market to promptly and strictly handle acts of smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods and infringement of intellectual property rights. Thereby, the team has discovered a number of establishments trading in counterfeit goods of protected trademarks in Vietnam, smuggled goods... Specifically, on June 3, conducting an inspection at a cosmetics business on 2/4 Street (Vinh Phuoc Ward, Nha Trang City), Market Management Team No. 1 discovered that the business was trading in 159 units of cosmetic products such as masks, lipsticks, sunscreens... manufactured abroad without invoices, documents, sub-labels, and cosmetic product declaration forms. The team has drawn up a record and temporarily detained all of the above-mentioned violating products for handling according to the provisions of law. Previously, Market Management Team No. 1 also inspected 2 handbag businesses on Hung Vuong Street, Loc Tho Ward and Phuoc Dong Commune (Nha Trang City), discovering that the businesses were selling more than 100 handbags of various types counterfeiting protected brands in Vietnam such as: Chanel, Burberry...

From May 20 to present, Market Management Team No. 1 has presided over and coordinated with relevant authorities to inspect 15 business establishments, discovering 7 cases of violations in business registration, business licenses, trading in counterfeit goods, trading in smuggled cosmetics, etc. Thereby, imposing an administrative fine of 101 million VND; forcing the destruction of 301 units of handbags, wallets, and cosmetics of all kinds.

Mr. Nguyen Thai Quoc - Captain of Market Management Team No. 1 said: “During this peak inspection period, a number of businesses in the center of Nha Trang City closed down, mainly related to the business of clothing, shoes, cosmetics, sports equipment... For these cases, the team will continue to strengthen the management of the area to detect and strictly handle violations when they are discovered. In addition, the team also focuses on implementing many solutions to strengthen inspection and control in e-commerce activities. Recently, many subjects have taken advantage of cyberspace to advertise and publicly sell products and goods of unknown origin, causing difficulties for functional agencies in the work of inspecting and controlling goods circulating on the market".

Creating a transparent and fair business environment

Implementing the policies and directions of the Government, the Prime Minister , the National Steering Committee for the Prevention of Smuggling, Trade Fraud and Counterfeit Goods (National Steering Committee 389), ministries, branches, the Provincial Party Committee, and the Provincial People's Committee on the peak of the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods, the Provincial Market Management Department has promptly advised the Provincial Steering Committee 389 to direct units to perform tasks in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the area. In particular, the Department has advised the Provincial People's Committee to establish a Working Group of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee on the peak of the fight against, preventing and repelling smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods; Plan for the peak of monitoring, inspecting and handling acts of smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods and infringement of intellectual property rights in the new situation in the province.

In addition to inspection work, the Department directs the Market Management teams to focus on implementing local management, regularly monitoring and supervising the market to promptly detect unusual developments of goods circulating on the market, especially products that affect the health of consumers. At the same time, strengthen monitoring and inspection of e-commerce platforms and social networks - where the situation of smuggling, counterfeit goods, and poor quality goods is emerging... In addition to the efforts of sectors, levels and functional forces, the Provincial Market Management Department also calls on consumers to coordinate with functional agencies, promptly reporting when detecting suspected counterfeit goods".
