Vietnamese dancesport athlete couple in Top 50 best dance couples in the world

The Vietnamese dancesport athlete couple has excelled over dozens of international athlete couples to enter the final round and ranked in the top 6 overall at the WDSF Hradec Kralove Open 2024 tournament in the early morning of September 2 (Vietnam time).

The WDSF Hradec Kralove Open 2024 is organized by the World DanceSport Federation in the Czech Republic.

Vietnamese dancesport athlete couple Pham Trung Hoa - Nguyen My Trang have excellently entered the Top 50 best middle-aged dance couples in the world.

To reach the final round, the couple Pham Trung Hoa - Nguyen My Trang had to go through three fierce rounds of competition with strong opponents from European countries such as: Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Latvia, Cyprus, and the host country, the Czech Republic.

The two Vietnamese athletes are also the only representatives of Asia participating in this tournament in both the Middle Age 1 (one athlete aged 30 and over, the other aged 35 and over), and Middle Age 2 (one over 40 and one over 45).

Ms. Nguyen My Trang shared that both athletes were very surprised with this achievement. "After finishing the Top 12 Semi-final round, I thought that my team had no chance to continue because the opponents were too strong. The whole team was packing up to leave when suddenly the electronic board showed our names and the word Vietnam on the list of finalists, making us burst into tears of joy.

It was wonderful when the Organizing Committee introduced the athlete couple from Vietnam, the whole stadium resounded with loud applause. And there is nothing more proud and meaningful than being listed in the world's top 50 on the National Day of September 2, as a way to express the deep affection we want to give to the Fatherland and our loved ones who have always followed, encouraged and cheered us on throughout the competition" - Ms. Nguyen My Trang shared.

Interact with international athletes

The athlete couple Pham Trung Hoa - Nguyen My Trang once represented Vietnam at the World Dancesport Championship in the Middle Age category held in Germany in June 2024 and ranked 42nd out of hundreds of couples worldwide.

Mr. Pham Trung Hoa is a coach and Dancesport athlete who has competed professionally for 18 years. He is currently the Director of VietsDance Sports Dance Center in Hanoi , where Ms. Nguyen My Trang has studied for over 7 years.

Ms. Nguyen My Trang is a businesswoman, started practicing dancesport in 2017 and has just entered professional dancesport competition since August 2022.

The couple from Vietnam has competed and achieved many high achievements in domestic and international dancesport arenas in recent years:

WDSF Latin Junior II Champion – WDSF Senior II Dancesport Championship (KVTT) held in Hanoi in 2023.

5 Gold medals in the Middle-aged II group at the National Youth Championship and KVTT Cup in August 2024.

2 Gold Medals, 1 Silver Medal, 3 Bronze Medals at the 2023 Malaysia Open KVTT International Championship.

4 Silver Medals at the 2022 Malaysia Open KVTT International Championship.

Silver Medal of the National Championship of Class A and Class C Latin Middle Age II, in Ba Ria Vung Tau, 2023.

6 Gold Medals in all 6 events of the Middle-aged II group at the 2023 Thang Long International Open KVTT Tournament.
