In the first title match, Pham Vo Son Liem "took the lead" for the Vietnamese boxers with a match against famous Cambodian boxer SoKhuch in the men's 65kg category.

The first round started off smoothly for Son Liem, with the Vietnamese fighter showing signs of dominating SoKhuch at times. However, in the second and third rounds, as his opponent had figured out his tactics, Son Liem’s inexperience began to show. He was easily knocked down by his opponent, and had to accept defeat even though the match lasted the full three rounds.

The second match pitted Asian champion Nguyen Thi Ngoc Ngan against SEA Games champion Chanvotey in the women’s 54kg category. About two months earlier, the two women had clashed in a Kun Khmer match in Cambodia. The match was a draw as both teams appeared evenly matched.

In this rematch, the situation has changed. While the Cambodian boxer had an excellent match, on the contrary, the Vietnamese female boxer could not maintain her good form on home ground. In the first two rounds, Ngoc Ngan had some psychological problems so her attacks were not fully effective. In the third round, Ngoc Ngan tried her best to knock out her opponent, but Chanvotey still maintained the match well, thereby bringing the second belt to the Cambodian boxer.

Luong Van Den holds the 73kg championship belt for Vietnam.

At this time, all hopes were focused on the final title match between Luong Van Den and Vong Noy in the 73kg class. Right in the first round, Luong Van Den quickly brought an advantage to Vietnam with a combination of precise punches that caused Vong Noy to fall to the floor and show signs of being stunned.

In the second round, Vong Noy's physical strength gradually recovered, the Cambodian fighter immediately caused difficulties for Luong Van Den with quite accurate elbow strikes. However, with the cheers of the Vietnamese audience, Luong Van Den still showed great concentration, taking advantage of each strike to score points.

In round 3, Van Den remained steadfast with his tactics, showing his flexibility in sharp attacks. He convinced the referees with the final victory, bringing home the 73kg belt for Vietnam.

In the remaining matches of the event, Vietnam's two SEA Games champions Nguyen Xuan Phuong and Huynh Van Tuan both convincingly won against Vurbanov Davut of Turkmenistan and Kon Somaly of Cambodia.

Ta Duc Du defeated Sovath Sopheap of Cambodia, while the two boxers Ro Cham Do and Phung Phu Thuan did not create any surprises against very strong opponents Birt Somkhum and Prom Samnang.

Mr. Ho Thanh Liem, representative of the Organizing Committee, said that this event not only creates opportunities for martial artists to demonstrate their talents, but is also an opportunity for the two countries to strengthen their friendship, thereby opening up broad cooperation in areas such as economics , education and tourism.
